Nafion Proton Exchange Membrane Pretreatment

Pretreatment is recommended before use:

1. Treat the membrane with a 5% hydrogen peroxide solution at 80°C for 1 hour.
2. Soak the membrane in deionized water for 30 minutes.
3. Treat the membrane in 5% sulfuric acid solution (by mass) at 80°C for 1 hour.
4. Soak the membrane in deionized water for another 30 minutes.

Alternatively, depending on the specific application and established laboratory procedure, the membrane may be used directly after soaking in the electrolyte solution.
