At the lowest heat setting, it gets extremely hot. For certain solvents, it's a choice between a rolling boil or nothing.

I had some trouble with the mantle as it does not include a grounding screen thus leading to power trips and shocks. This is not a defect of the product but just a feature of mantles in this price range. I worked with support and they've been good about helping me to diagnose the problem, review my mantle and its use, and ultimately assist to facilitate a refund which was completed successfully. Support worked with me patiently over the course of more than a month to get this sorted out. Will definitely buy more from this company
